Description:
Project Fugazi reflects, in many ways, the core approach of the studio.
A space shaped less through decoration or formal gestures, and more through atmosphere, material presence, and cultural context.
Located on Nachalat Binyamin Street inside a building over one hundred years old, the project embraces the existing imperfections of the structure rather than concealing them. Layers of age, irregularity, and rawness became part of the architectural language itself.
The space was conceived as a café and wine bar centered around music, not as a themed environment, but as a place where sound, objects, light, and social interaction naturally shape the experience of the interior.
The project focuses on restraint, proportion, texture, and the emotional qualities of materials in their most direct form.
Throughout the project, custom-made architectural elements and objects were developed specifically for the space, including furniture pieces, integrated systems, and functional details designed as part of a continuous spatial language rather than separate decorative components.
The dialogue between old and new remains intentionally unresolved. Existing surfaces coexist with newly inserted elements without attempting to erase the tension between them. The result is a space that feels assembled over time rather than completed at once.
Project Fugazi approaches imperfection not as a flaw, but as an architectural tool, one capable of producing identity, and a stronger connection to place.
The project continues the studio’s ongoing interest in spaces that operate somewhere between hospitality, culture, and atmosphere, where architecture becomes less about image-making and more about constructing a specific emotional condition.
